Abstract

The GST Act was passed in the Parliament on 29th March 2017 and came into effect on 1st July 2017. It is levied on the supply of goods and services. After three years from the implementation of GST, people are not much aware of the provisions of GST. The outcome of the study is consistent with that of the previous studies. The level of awareness among entrepreneurs is low towards GST. Most of them are still not in support of the implementation of GST, and they are facing a lot of difficulties in the matter related to GST and also due to its implementation. This study aims to evaluate the awareness, perception, and practical difficulties that entrepreneurs of the unorganized sector in Beed district, have towards the Goods and Services Tax (GST) As per this study for the efficient and successful rollout of the GST, (1) the GST system and mechanism should be made clearer to taxpayers (2) other professional bodies should be appointed to assist in execution and (3) Schemes and policies should be framed and offered to protect the interest of vulnerable small traders and manufacturers.
